The numbers of “Magical Interweavings”
In the heart of Friuli Venezia Giulia, between the UNESCO towns of Aquileia and Palmanova, stands the Strassoldo di Sopra (Ud) Castle, next to its twin, the Castello di Sotto, in the picturesque village of the same name, one of the most beautiful in Italy. With a thousand years of history, the castle is still a centre of culture and tradition.
The uniqueness of the event lies in the meticulous selection of more than 120 true masters, gardeners and decorators, personally chosen by the owner on the basis of strict quality criteria, who bring their creations to the furnished rooms and gardens of the castle. From the Piano Nobile to the Armigeri Gardens, from the Park to the Rice Pileria, from the Brolo to the Chancery, each room tells a story of creativity and tradition.
The intimate knowledge of the place, its secrets and its history allows the creation of an atmosphere in which the Genius Loci dialogue harmoniously with selected excellence. The castle complex is transformed into a treasure chest of wonders, where time flows differently. Here you can discover gold jewellery adorned with stones and pearls, admire artistic ceramics fired at 1,000 degrees, be enchanted by precious fabrics woven on ancient looms. Wrought iron lamps with galvanic silver baths dialogue with expertly restored period furniture, while refined "fildiferro" elements, created according to centuries-old traditions, blend with modern interpretations of design.
In the salons, every detail recounts centuries of history, through collections of gowns in the finest silks, accessories that bring forgotten techniques back to life, and furnishings that combine the ancient and the contemporary. Within the walls, ateliers come to life where artists transform beached wood and paper into poetic sculptures, breathing new life into ancient materials.
In Brolo, spring arrives with botanical rarities from the nurseries: ancient roses with forgotten scents, rustic orchids that defy the seasons, medicinal herbs that are the guardians of ancestral knowledge and native plants cultivated with respect for tradition.
The journey continues through gastronomic excellence: from honey harvested according to ancient traditions, to jams made from wild mountain fruits, to baked goods made from ancient grains and carefully guarded mother yeasts.
An experience that has been renewed for 27 years, where each edition tells a different story, in a place where time has its own meaning. "Magical Interweaving is more than a market exhibition; it is a melting pot of activities and a balm for the soul, a time to find serenity and positivity.
These initiatives allow people to discover a reality normally hidden from the public, and help to preserve and enhance the area without the support of public funds.

Notes
- The ticket purchase contributes to the safety and preservation of a valuable historical asset.
- Polite dogs on leashes are allowed, provided with treat bags.
- The review will also be held in case of rain. It is therefore recommended to wear comfortable, waterproof shoes, as is customary for such countryside events.

What to do during the event
S. Messa della Domenica delle Palme
Sunday, 9:45 a.m.: Procession starting from the small church of Santa Maria in Vineis (Borgo Viola).
10 a.m.: Arrival at the Church of St. Nicholas (in the center of the Borgo del Castello di Sopra), where Holy Mass will be celebrated. Distribution of olive branches at the exit of the church.
Botanical Gems
The castle will be enveloped in a profusion of striking seasonal decorations.
Friday, 3 p.m.: “Falling in love with native orchids,” by Marco Toffoletti of Piante Pazze Nursery. In his green space in the Brolo.
Saturday, 11 a.m.: “Regenerative farming: seeds of a sustainable future,” by Semetella Diffuse Farm. River Agora in the Brolo.
Saturday, 3 p.m.: “Old Roses: Tales of Timeless Beauty,” by Andrea D'Avanzo of Rosificio di Mortegliano. In his green space in the Brolo.
Saturday, h 4 p.m. Presentation of the book “In contact with trees, understanding them, knowing them and managing them” edited by Sergio De Pra. River Agora, Brolo.
Sunday, 11 a.m.: “Weaving plants: art and nature in every season,” by Luisella Goria. River Agora in the Brolo.
Daily: Simone Braidotti of “The Garden Doc” will be available for consultations on tree stability, felling, tree climbing, arboriculture and pruning. In his green space in the Brolo
Daily: De Pra Garden will be on hand to offer personalized advice and innovative solutions in the design and care of green spaces, sensitive to ecological balances and environmental changes. In its green space in the Brolo.
Tutti i giorni: Mostra didattica del vivaio forestale regionale Pascul per illustrare le azioni di Tutela della biodiversità e delle specie autoctone intraprese, con presentazione dei progetti educativi per scuole e università. Nel loro spazio verde nel Brolo.
Walks and Guided Tours
Saturday, 10:30 a.m.: Walk “Discovering local edible herbs and their uses in cooking and wellness,” with Giusi Foschia of the Edible Garden. Meet at Arco della Porta Cistigna (it is recommended to bring a basket!).

Daily at 10 a.m., 12 noon, 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.: Guided outdoor tours to discover the two Castles of Strassoldo, Villa Vitas, the Little Church of Santa Maria in Vineis and the Woodland Mill, led by Annamaria Fabbro and Annalisa Marchetti, excellent licensed tour guides.
