“Spring Magical Weavings” at Castello di Strassoldo di Sopra

A Journey into the Heart of Creativity, History, and Nature

Friday, 12th April, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Saturday, 13th April 2024 and Sunday, 14th April, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM

In the last 26 years, Castello di Strassoldo di Sopra, located in the charming village of Strassoldo, part of the prestigious “Club of Italy’s Most Beautiful Villages,” opens its ancient gates twice a year for meticulously curated and enchanting showcases, featuring over 115 carefully selected artisans, horticulturists, and small-scale agricultural producers from across Italy.

From 12th to 14th April, 2024, the complex will be beautifully adorned with spring decorations to honor visitors, and an imaginary magical thread will guide them to discover the new creations of the exhibitors and the spaces, through the ancient halls of the main palace, the armigeri’s gardens, the park, the rice mill, the orchard, and the chancellery.

Artisans will present their latest offerings, which will be of high quality and environmentally friendly, in an explosion of emotions, shapes, and colours. Every corner of the castle and its gardens will be adorned with household and garden items, such as tailored clothing, high-end jewelry, bags of all kinds, lamps, shoes, artworks, antique furniture, and paintings, wrought iron works, shabby chic furnishings, cosmetics, natural perfumes, herbal products, dried organic fruits and vegetables, scented soy candles, sculptures, and much more.

To tantalize the taste buds, there will be four refreshment points and small-scale agricultural producers, while in the ancient orchard, surrounded by crystal-clear streams, there will be a niche of horticulturists with special and rare plants. This time, even the garden of the twin Castello di Strassoldo di Sotto will host educational workshops and the park will be open for guided tours.

One of the delightful aspects of these initiatives is the opportunity to admire the gardens in both autumn and spring, in all their splendor. In April, nature will have just awakened from its winter slumber, and flowers like hellebores, tulips, muscari, daffodils, hyacinths, and anemones will delicately colour the landscape.

The showcases are passionately curated by Gabriella Williams di Strassoldo, owner of Castello di Sopra for 26 years, with the aim of promoting arts and crafts, an important historical site, and its territory.

The events attract enthusiasts of creativity, nature, and authentic historical atmospheres, offering an escape from daily tensions and an opportunity to absorb the positive energy of the ancient place.
